F1 fans don't just want to watch the race—they want to be part of the strategy. To keep McLaren's "Papaya Army" engaged off-track, we designed an interactive campaign integrated directly into McLaren’s WeChat Mini-Program ecosystem, letting fans put their racing instincts to the test during live Grand Prix weekends.

By auditing real-time user behavior during live race sessions, we identified critical cognitive barriers and technical drop-off points. We engineered the core interaction flow around three distinct psychological phases:
Phase 1: Attention Capture (Entry): Captures split-second attention during dual-screening (TV + Mobile) via a friction-free, 1-tap entry with zero onboarding barriers.
Phase 2: Decision Reduction (Interaction): Replaces blank-field estimation with pre-loaded benchmark telemetry, turning abstract math into intuitive fine-tuning.
Phase 3: State Certainty (Confirmation): Delivers instantaneous visual proof of submission before the fan's focus shifts back to the live broadcast.

Solution: Smart Anchoring
We pre-loaded historical telemetry data (e.g., last year's qualifying benchmark) directly into the time picker, shifting the user task from inventing a number to simply adjusting a realistic baseline.

Solution: Binary UX States
We introduced a strict state machine:
Reference Mode (Default): The submission CTA is conditionally locked with explicit micro-copy ("Edit to set your time").
Confirmed Mode (Active): Unlocked only after an explicit wheel-picker interaction, ensuring 100% intent and submission accuracy without passive errors.

High-Latency Protection: Primary CTAs lock immediately upon first tap, blocking duplicate navigation triggers and preventing multi-submission API errors on jammed cell networks.
Zero-Refresh State Transitions: Client-side reactive timers lock entry windows at exactly
